Food + Wine = Good Times

The always popular Music City Food + Wine Festival will celebrate its sixth year with events taking place on the weekend September 14-16. All of the fun will happen at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park which is only about 15 minutes from the Alexis Inn & Suites. Be sure to stop by the Grand Taste Pavilion which features cooking demonstrations, tasting sessions, and panel discussions from more than 20 local chefs. The Grand Taste event, taking place both Friday and Saturday, allows visitors to enjoy some offerings from some of Nashville’s top restaurants perfectly paired with wine, beer, or spirits. When the sun starts to set, the party starts at Martin’s BBQ and friends, an outdoor bbq with favorites slow roasted over a fire. Other highlights include Pappy Hour, a bourbon tasting from Old Rip Van Winkle Distillery, and Gospel Brunch which combines live music with breakfast cocktails and, of course, delicious food. Whether you can attend all weekend long or just one day, the Music City Food + Wine Festival is the perfect place to try new food and drinks while learning about a variety of cooking styles.
